High-Impact Signage Transforms Altecnic’s New Distribution Hub

The Challenge

Altecnic was relocating to an impressive new 70,000 sq ft purpose-built distribution centre and required a visual partner to match the scale of their ambition. Located by the M6 motorway, the primary challenge was ensuring high-impact visibility for passing traffic, day and night. FASTSIGNS® Manchester provided a comprehensive branding solution, overcoming colour-related visibility challenges, to make the headquarters stand out against the skyline.

The Solution

To achieve maximum impact, an oversized signage solution now defines the exterior. A massive 10-metre wide illuminated sign, featuring the Altecnic logo and ‘Caleffi Group’ tagline, promotes the building's presence. With the exterior of the building and the Altecnic logo being a very similar colour, to overcome the grey-on-grey contrast, specialist acrylic faces were utilised in the exterior building sign, to ensure the lettering is bright white at night, guaranteeing constant visibility. A 3-metre high totem and comprehensive wayfinding sign, further guide people around the perimeter.

The installation required intricate planning, due to unique structural elements. To anchor the new signage, the team worked with a scaffolding company to engineer a complex buttress scaffolding solution, to safely mount the large letters. Inside, the brand experience continues: custom wallpapers, stainless steel logos and clear directional signage, transform the warehouse and office spaces, immersing staff and visitors in the company values, while ensuring seamless navigation throughout the large facility.

The Result

The prominent exterior branding now serves as a memorable landmark for M6 motorway drivers, establishing Altecnic’s dominance in the area, while interior branding promotes the brand and its ethos. The clear and consistent wayfinding has streamlined the visitor experience, ensuring suppliers and guests navigate the separate car parks and vast interiors with ease.
